Privacy Notice

This notice explains what happens to your information when you use www.amber-ash.co.uk. The website is run by Amber & Ash, a small business in Cheshire, UK. You can contact us about privacy at hello@amber-ash.co.uk.

What this website collects

Not much. The website has no accounts or checkout, and it doesn't set cookies or use advertising or tracking tools. The only form is the optional email sign-up at the bottom of each page.

Our Name Sign Designer remembers the last name and options you tried, so they're still there next time. That's saved only in your own browser, using its local storage, and it's never sent to us.

Email updates

If you sign up for email updates, we collect your email address and use it only to send you news from Amber & Ash: new designs, Christmas last posting dates and the opening of our own shop. We'll email you a link to confirm first, and you're only added once you click it. Our legal basis is your consent.

Every email has an unsubscribe link, or you can email us and we'll remove you. We keep your address until you unsubscribe, and we never sell or share it.

Our emails are sent by Brevo, an email service based in France, which stores your address for us. Brevo also tells us whether our emails are opened and which links are clicked, so we can see which news is useful. Brevo's privacy policy

Services we use

• Hosting. The website is hosted by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes technical information such as your IP address and browser type in order to deliver pages and protect the site from attacks. Cloudflare's privacy policy
• Email updates. Brevo stores sign-up addresses and sends our emails, as described above.
• Etsy rating. The star rating on our pages comes from Etsy's API. Our own server fetches it, so your browser doesn't contact Etsy for it, and no personal information is involved.

Buying through Etsy

When you click a Buy on Etsy button, you leave this website for Etsy. Anything you do there, including placing an order, is covered by Etsy's privacy policy. Our links let Etsy know the visit came from us. When you order, Etsy shares the details we need to make and post it, such as your name, address and personalisation, and we use them only for that purpose.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask us for a copy of any personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it. You can also withdraw your consent to email updates at any time. Email us and we'll reply within one month. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.

Changes

If we add anything new to the website, such as visitor statistics, we'll update this notice first and change the date at the top.
