Where to hang a nursery sign
Most parents centre the sign on the wall above the cot, where it frames the cot rather than crowding it. Hang it high enough to stay well out of reach once your baby can pull themselves up to standing. Above a chest of drawers, a changing unit or a reading chair works beautifully too. Sizes
Each size sets the most your name can measure: a maximum width and a maximum height. We scale the name up until it reaches one of them, so long names fill the width and short names reach the full height, and no name is ever stretched or squashed.
That means a very short name such as El comes out narrower than the size you choose. The designer shows the exact measurements of any name.

Wood veneer signs are 4 mm thick: a real wood veneer on an MDF core, so the grain on yours is one of a kind. Unpainted MDF signs are 3 mm thick and ready for you to paint.

Hanging
Every sign comes with strong 3M double-sided tape, so there's no drilling. Stick it to a smooth, clean, dry surface and press firmly.

What size name sign should I hang above a cot?
Most cots suit a sign 40 to 60 cm wide. Mark the width on the wall with masking tape and look at it from the doorway, or type the name into our Name Sign Designer to see its exact size.
How high above the cot should it go?
Centre it on the wall above the cot, high enough to stay well out of reach once your baby can pull themselves up to standing. Press it firmly into place, and check now and then that it's still secure.
Do I need to drill into the wall?
Not on a smooth wall. Strong 3M double-sided tape comes with every sign: stick it to a smooth, clean, dry wall and press firmly. The tape won't grip heavily textured finishes, so use your own fixings there.
Do you make wall art to match?
